Easy Mulled Wine Recipe Using Wilderness Run Vineyards Videre
A dark and fruity flavored wine variety, like Merlot works best when making mulled wine. We will be using Videre, a red blend of Merlot and Malbec.
The best mulled wine I've had in years. Thank you! – Jill Lang
Nothing warms your bones like a glass of mulled wine on a dark and dreary December Monday. Fortunately we have the cure to what ails you in our tasting room or if you're one of those folks who like to do their relaxing at home, we've prepared an easy to follow recipe using our very own Videre Merlot/Malbec blend.
Mulled Wine
Ingredients
Here is a list of all of the ingredients you'll need to get this party started:
1 bottle of Videre Merlot/Malbec Blend
1 orange; cut into rounds
2 cinnamon sticks
3 star anise
5 whole cloves
1/4 cup brown sugar (optional, depending on your desired level of sweetness; start with one TBSP and add more to taste.)
Optional garnishes; Fresh cranberries, cinnamon sticks, and orange slices
Directions
Directions should always be short and to the point.
Combine all ingredients in a heavy-bottomed pot and bring to just below a simmer. (You don’t want to let the mixture boil as that makes the alcohol evaporate.) Continue heating on low for about ten minutes for the flavors to meld and the liquid too warm.
Pour into a mug and garnish as desired. Enjoy!
